Karting

Riding, no pun intended, on with my word of the year (which is "action"), I thought I'd put more action in my life. And what an action-packed it was.

I went Karting with officemates last night. It's this small, low racing car where you only step on either gas or the breaks. That easy. But the race track has lots of turns and sharp turns to make your ride a lot less easy. And its a bit shaky at the start, for me, as I try to feel-in how fast it would accelerate depending on the levels of how hard I step on the gas.

We went to the Speedzone at the Fort. We were given race attires with helmet. Although some of them had torn zippers, holes, etc., it's enough to give you that cool look racers have. Each of us were assigned Karts and registered it in thier computer. Each time we cross one lap, the computer reads and displays our lap time.

The thing is, I was wearing this neon green race attire. Me lang. Unlike everyone, a couple of them wore red, some blue, some green. But having worn the sole neon green, I am the basis of everyone on their lap count and in terms of overtaking. You can't really see other riders because of the big big helmet. While me, I did't have any idea who the hell's been overtaking me. Fuck.

Anyway, although, I cannot narrate much action here, the experience was definitely action-filled. You will have to maintain focus always. One second of drifting might cause you to miss an important turn. Funny, because we're really a bunch of nice people that we seemed like "convoying" as if we're in a parade, instead of racing. Personally, I got to be competitive in the last minutes when I really got the hang of it and when I noticed that everyone has been overtaking me already. So, I stepped on the gas. But, it was all too late.

3rd to the last lang naman ako. 8th place. In a span of 12 minutes, I was able to finish just 5 laps. Jay, our highest, reached 8 laps. May pagka-malayo no. Bano.

Hey you guys, try it. At Speedzone, it costs P600 for 12 minutes. 12 minutes may seem so short, but really, its enough. Its a fun fun ride already.
