Attended Creative Guild last night. Its basically an awards show to give credit to great advertising in the past year.
My only observation was that the show sucked. As in, it lacked organization. I understand that the guild is made up of creative peeps. But hey, let's put a good show naman o.
The ads were definitely great, all deserving of the awards.
But the show, the program itself was not properly planned and prepared. The concept was there. However, it was poorly-executed. Some were not even executed at all. The host (an Executive Creative Director of a multi national ad agency) jokingly read the script and the role-playing that they should be doing at one point. Pero, d na nila nagawa kasi kulang nga sa preparations. He was hillarious though.
Presentors had to force themselves to talk about anything at the podium since the envelopes (containing the winners) were not ready yet.
The show started late. It was supposed to start at 7, but a sign was placed outside informing attendees to come back after an hour. Coming back after an hour, it didn't start immediately. May waiting time pa rin.
In the end, the host said "Next time, i-involve ang mga AEs dito ah!"
