Yesterday No More

It was one of those days when you feel like your body's being dragged on the ground by a horse-driven carriage. Worst.

Started last Tuesday during our preparations for the Wednesday's event. We were practically everywhere in the city trying to fix everything we could from the editor of AVP, to our event organizers, to the printer of collateral materials to the venue (Rockwell Club). It was hell, I tell you. And fucker thing is, we had to arrange a birthday party at Mc Donald's for one of our Clients. they know we are busy preparing for their event the next day, but they don't care naman. Stayed at rockwell club till 1 am to check if the setting up is on-sked and no foul-ups.

Wednesday came, event day. I was there by 8 am, again trying to fix everything for a press conference at eleven am. (The press by the way arrived at 1230. Fear of no press attending talaga.) Right after, my boss and I are doing the run-around to check if everything's going smoothly. We had to rush the set-up because the stage isn't simple. The product reveal will be done on stage in a "magical" way - care of the pinoy version of David Blaine, Eric Mana. When the bolipata musical players and the synchronized swimmers arrive, I had to take care of them, make sure they're in a comfortable place and to make sure they won't starve. Hay. Of course, everybody's tensed and tired already. Given that, we cannot avoid some quarrels and disagreements. Even if its a small thing, things like that won't help. We had to skip meals because we cannot afford to pause and sit and rest. No can do.

Anyhoo, the event went so well. Client was very happy. And that's good enough for me. But, still, one cannot fathom how tired I was. Going home, I dropped by at 415. Joel, trace and monster were there. They were a sight for sore eyes, so to speak. Even for just, what, 5 minutes? It was all work the whole day, but seeing friends at the end.. i cannot ask for more but my bed.
