I have become a coffee drinker.
I was never raised up in a life of caffeine and coffee. Never. While I see my parents drink coffee every morning when I was a kid, they would not allow me to drink because they always say its bad for the health. So, this kind of brainwash (a bit harsh of a word to use) went a long way and I never did really drink coffee at all in my life. I never even liked it. I was an Ovaltine kid and a Milo adult.
Up until when those upscale coffee shops came into picture. Those choco frappes were acceptable to me because they don't seem to taste hardcore coffee. So, every now and then, not often, I would get some.
But still, I was NOT a coffee drinker.
And now, I am. Every morning, while I try to stop myself from doing it, I would go to the nearby carinderia, where a nice, somewhat old, motherly lady serves iced coffee THAT IS THE BEST. And yes, I do this every morning.
I would like to blame my friend, Macky Lim, for introducing me into this kind of behaviour but even if he's not around, I would really go and buy myself an ICED COFFEE.
Her product is simple - its a mix of Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk, with lots of ice. That's it.
How amazing that I'm lured into this addiction with that simple concoction.
And now that I have UTI (Urinary Track Infection), a very, very, good luck to me.
Here's my coffee lady. I'll be seeing you in a few minutes to buy Iced Coffee as soon as I finish writing this blog entry.
